Headlight Housings will not clear!!!

My headlights are foggy as all hell, and i've tried everything.

When theyre wet they're crystal clear but when they dry they become all foggy again.

Does anyone else have this problem?

how are you trying to clean them?

have you followed the write up for cleaning the headlight in the detailing section?

If they are the plastic ones you can wet sand them and then buff them. If you dont buff them they will be foggy also.

Go to a lower grit sandpaper. Try 2500 then repolish and wax.

wow 2500 is a little high. great result have been seen starting at 1000 grit (wet sanding) then move up to 2k. of course there is not one way to do things

Yea but still for that price you can have brand new clear ones and not have to wrry about doing it again for a while.

Oops my bad there 55 more. But lets just see how long will it take you to sand it
down? do you have the time? If yes then by all means sand and go from there. If not you can do like i did and bought new lights.

DON'T USE NAIL POLISH REMOVER ON PLASTIC !! Unless you want melted headlights

I think the 3 step product mentioned was Novus, and I've used that with pretty good success, and its fairly reasonably priced on ebay.

You can use it, but just dont leave it on. I used them on my old 92 camry, and i just wiped it off and had no problems.

Nail polish remover wont melt plastic immediately.
