heater not too hot using chest/foot button

Well, winter is coming up and I'm concerned about a problem that I've always had with the heater in my '96. With the vent pointing only to my chest or to my foot, it's very hot, as it should be. However, using the chest and foot button, it doesn't seem very hot. On very cold days, I can put the heater on full blast and it would still not get very hot in the car. Is there a problem with the vent using the chest and foot control?

Not here to answer your q, sorry

I just got a 95 SE a few months ago, and I noticed the heater in my Max isn't that great (comparing to my 91 Escort that could cook an egg in 3 minutes or less). I was going to check it at the dealer but decided no point, wasting $$$.

It takes quite some time for warm air to start blowing, and it will definitely take more time once we hit winter temps. But I'm not too concerned, that's why I have a winter parka!!!

I've noticed this as well.

The only thing I can think of is that with the hot air spread to chest and feet, it not as apparent when the car is warming up. When you have all the heeat going to one spot, it seems much hotter. I don't know if this is correct but it appeases me.
