Scratches + Dents

I baught my Max used its a 95 GLE, it has a lot of dents and scrathes on it, its beginning to look bad the more i notice it. I know touch up paint isnt the best way i heard it will only make it worse. So what else do i do?

Dents, there's not much you can do yourself. But try this link to see what you can do with scratches/paint chips: http://www.autopia-carcare.com/painchiprep.html

Like the site said, it's pretty tricky and is almost an art to get rid of scratches. I'll tell you this though, it might be expensive ($70-$120), but get the exterior proffesionally detailed. The difference between you and the pros is that they have the right chemicals and equipment to prep, clean, HighSpeed glaze/polish/wax your car more than your hand or orbital buffer can do. They also have the expertise to get rid of fine scratches with a wet sander. Just make sure that they've been in business for a while...cause they can really mess up your car if they don't know what they are doing.

As for the dents and ding, I had my car done for $200. Go to a place where they specialize in dent removal only, not a body shop cause they'll charge you an arm and a leg. It's amazing what they can do and by far the best thing I did for my car. They counted a total of 20+ dings all over and they removed them all(I had to drop the car off for the whole day). Remeber to bargain the prrice down too!

I know it's fun to D.I.Y, but for those two things, it might be best to swallow your prode and get it done once and for all. That's it and good luck with your Max!

If you get your car detailed keep up on it too with waxing etc. Or you will just end up seeing the swirls etc again. I get my cars detailed like once a year or so. Just looks and smeels great. Some places might only do the outside for cheaper if you want but getting the whole thing makes it feel new.
