Battery is dead

Completely drained, even the keyless entry won't work.
Must be a power leak somewhere. Where?

I recently messed with the ignition switch and cut the o/d button wires ( I had to remove the butoon ). Also, I temporarily disconnected the cig lighter, but it's back on now.

I didn't go under the hood at all, except for a sec to jump the car last night. The battery was dead, but not completely (the battery is fine, I just had some lights on and music the whole day cuz I was working on the car.)

today the battery is dead again, but this time completely drained. I charged the battery good last night after it died the first time.

Anybody have any thoughts on what might have caused this leak?

Have you checked for any kind of parasitic drain? At least to see how much power is being used with key out?

I will right now.
Had to go to class in the morning, had to run actually, since my car was dead.

I think it's the ignition switch. I messed with it about 2 days ago.
Last night when I turned the cars off I tried taking the key out of the ignition, but it would turn to the off position, kinda like when the stearing wheel locks. I had to force it a little for it to turn. and then when I took the key out my indicator lights on the cluster were still on (chck eng, seat belt, airbag, etc.) I was like wtf? So I put the key back in and turned the key back and forth, and took it out again (I had to force it again) and this time the lights were off.

And in the morning the morning the battery was drained.

I am guessing here, is it possible to be a bad ignition switch?

It's not a bad battery because it wouldn't be completely drained if it's bad.
It's somehing else.
I don't have the car here today, it's at a shop. I needed some body work.
If I get it back tomorrow I'll look for a parasitic drain. My next step would be to change the ignition switch and then the battery (I need a new one anyway).

If none of those fix the problem then I just don't know what else to do.

Are you seriously gonna throw an ignition switch and a battery at it, and hope it solves the problem? Takes maybe 30 minutes to narrow a drain problem down to a specific fuse, and from there a few good guesses will likely get you the culprit...
