belt snapped and i need help

belt snapped and i need help

so im driving and all of a sudden i hear what sounds like a snapped belt rumbling around...then my power steering dissapears and the car shuts off...wtf is it. please i really need help with this...


serpentine belt?
timing belt?
idk

get in there and look, could just be the PS belt snapped, but i'm not sure why the car would have shut off

havent been able to look cuz we got snow last night so i havent evn been able to pop the hood to sneak a peek

Until you get a better look, you really don't know what you're dealing with. It sounds fairly simple (aside from the car dying).

Also, don't worry about a timing belt because these cars don't have a belt, better yet a chain.

I replaced the chain with timing gears

the greddy timing belt is a bit costly but very much worth it! When it snapped on my first motor, it threw the timing way off and basically killed the motor.
