I got a 96 max with 197k. I'm currently experiencing a problem where once I drive the car for about 5 minutes my clock fades out and my radio shuts off. The ABS light then comes on the dashboard along with the Airbag light blinking. The car feels like it wants to shut off but it doesn't. As I continue to drive the brake and battery will flash once and the ABS light will come off, the radio turns back on, and the clock will appear bright again.

Has anyone ever had this problem before??

When I sold my 1992 Max GLE, it had 303k. The original automatic was still working at 250k, but had it rebuilt to get rid of some slippage in 2nd.

I have an all original 95 maxima. Odometer stopped working at 225k. I am estimating an extra 40-50k miles than that. I've only had the car for a couple of weeks, and all I've done is make new exhaust hangars out of threaded bolt. The engine oil in my car has not been changed in 40,000 miles. Car still screams despite the abuse my friend (previous owner) put it through.

Just about to roll over 175k...just regular maintenance. Replaced both axles when one developed a leak, just did the brakes, and a couple other misc stuff. Pretty good since I've put over 20,000 miles on it in the last six months.

96 with 110,000 original miles, 2 window motors,1 regulator (three separate windows) valve covers, upper and lower oil gaskets, power steering hose, all 4 struts, belts, all 4 rotors and breaks, knock sensor, and probably more. Can't figure out why I am having so much trouble? Bought it from original owner in excellent shape.

I just rebuilt my auto tranny at 305k. I'm at 307K now and the car pulls better now then when I bought it with 43k on it. What a difference a rebuilt tranny can make.

Just bought a 97' GLE today with 199,500 on it. Not sure what has been done to this point, but I replaced the MAF with a used one today. Going to...

Replace both CV Shafts
Replace broken front sway bar link
Rear struts
Needs some exhaust work too....

And whatever is causing it not to start right.......(doubt i have two bad maf's).

I don't understand how this thread keeps on going and going. In theory, there really should only be one reply, right? - the org member with the highest mileage. I don't understand why people post their mileage when the guy before him listed a higher mileage. I guess the name of the thread should have been "List your mileage".

I've done all of those except the alternator. But the alternator was replaced free for the recall. So yeah, I've done all those too. Pretty good for a 10+ year old car huh?

A relative just gave me their very well-maintained 1995. 216,600 on it and to my knowledge he's done:

-Front and rear struts/shocks
-Ball Joints
-O2 Sensor
-New Brake lines all around (more routine than anything)

I've done:
-Ignition Switch
-Little bit of body work...riveted new sheet metal in the trunk because it was starting to rust...along with under the wheel wells.

I'm hoping for 300K...It drives beautifully...couldn't possibly run or shift better.

It does have an exhaust leak somewhere up front, so I'll have to have that taken care of soon...you can't hear it once you're up to speed, but under acceleration it's pretty obvious. Also, the windshield is pretty pitted...but it's not bad enough to bother me so far.

bought at 180,xxx miles, currently at 246,xxx miles
replaced:
starter
front and rear motor mounts
right lower control arm
that's just the major stuff, but I've done a ton of other minor repairs to it since I've gotten it. If I do one thing per month, it works as a car payment. I'm shooting for 300,xxx! Motor and tranny are still phenomenal.
Just doing oil changes every 3,000 miles and running the recommended premium fuel and it runs great

LOL, when I bought my car, it was 5 years old, and I didn't bother budgeting any $ for maintenance. But it seems that every year beyond that, it was an extra $100/month. Seriously by my 6th year of ownership, it seemed like I was spending $500/month to keep it running. And if I had a lucky month with no problems, some $1000 fix would pop up the next month! WTF???

Bought the car at 162k... and then realized the odometer was broken lol. That was 4 years ago, and the problems were: shocks (bad when I bought it), starter (easy fix), water pump (which was horribly fixed), alternator (due to oil getting on it from botched water pump job), radiator (easy fix) and crank pulley (guessing it is also due to oil leak). Car has been awesome, but there has been lots of rust since I bought it. Hoping to keep it running and buy a newer car soon.

97 I30 currently at 169K miles
Replaced

starter, twice over the last six years
knock sensor
O2 sensors, 3
radiator and two hoses
ignition coils, all six last month

Car runs strong, without any problems. One annoying thing is oil leak is getting progressively worse over last year.

1999 SE Limited - 141,000 Miles

Changed:

Struts
Alternator
Both Axles
Rear Calipers
Catback Exhaust
Endlinks
Knock Sensor
1 Coil pack

The rest was routine maintenance. This car has been extremely reliable and never once stranded me.

97 SE (concord mist) 5 spd

190K miles. I am 2nd owner had since 69K miles. Most reliable car I've ever owned.
Engine and trans appear strong and run smooth. Never changed coolant or trans oil.

Done:
Starter Twice
Knock Sensor
Rear left Caliper
Front caliper brackets
Exhaust from rear up to cat
Battery
tires twice, brakes several times. Actually, I think only discs once.
Clutch master cyliner
Lower clutch hose
Freed up stuck solenoid twice on rear charcol canister(some emissions thing, forgot name)
Pioneer premier stereo and pioneer speakers all around (original radio stopped playing cassete adapters and cd player got error a lot)
Just did the belt after 180K miles. Good thing too. was ready to go. All dried and missing pieces.
Refilled A/C twice
Right Front Strut Mount
Clutch

Needs:
Front Axles (clicking for the last 30k miles or more)
The check engine light to go off!! lol
Front ABS sensor bad so no ABS, and that thing ain't comin out
Frame rotted under radiator where engine cross member bolts to.
Plastic around shifter all cracked up
Sway Bar end links
