Clearence Lights

Clearence Lights
Ok, so I meet a maxima with bright clearence(parking) lights which matches with the headlights
I have a Blue headlight bulb, and on the side, I added the 2 blue light bulbs too
It wasn't bright enough so I did the "cut off the top nipple" method.
I put it in, it looks GREAT!
after a day goes by, I turn on my lights, clearence lights are gone...
maybe those bulbs can't handle the power?
do I have to go K mart and buy me new powerful bulbs that CAN handle them?
If yes, which brand?
Thanks guys.~

You probably blew the fuse. When I did swapped the bulbs in my lights, I blew one in the few week I had it. I upgraded to a 15 amp (I think stock is 10) fuse and it hasn't given me a problem since. Lots of people will yell at you for upgrading fuses you're not suppose to though fire hazard.

I had the same thing happen to me. and Ereet said it was the fuse. I believe it was the taillight fuse that blew. I wouldnt replace it with a higher amp fuse. You should be fine with the one thats in there now. if its still blowing up you, you have a short. I actallu just resoldered the socket in the lamp.

So I go to pepboys and ask them for what?

your car might have spares. but probably not. just pull out the blown one and bring it in. they will give you the right one for like a quarter or something. They are all color coded and they all have a number printed on the top. Just remember this do NOT under any circumstance put a different number (or color) fuse in. that may be a uh oh situation.

The fuses you are looking for are right below your steering wheel. Where your left knee is. When you pull the litle cover off , the other side states all the fuses you have and what amps they are. You can buy a fuse at any local car shop, or wal mart or such. They are usually neer the light bulbs and they come in little boxes. They cost about 2.50 a box.

There is two nipples on the bottom bulb.
you take the TOP nipple off
then you insert it in the car..
There should be two places where you stick the bulb in.
One is more steeper then the other.
Take the bulb, insert the bulb on the TOP place...
... if i didn't explain it right, ... ask some other people

Ok... today was a disaster...
I went to Pepboys, they didnt know jack shiet aobut fuses...
or they didnt wanna tell us.
I looked around for a CLEARENCE LIGHT fuse, nothing like that was there...
I noticed today that my clearence AND the light that is next to the turning signal light was gone...
This must definately point to fuse as a problem
Anyone know where it is exactly please?

Did the bulbs burn out.???
so the solution is to change bulbs? [/B][/QUOTE]
Or are they still good, if they are you blew a fuse. If the bulbs burn up, which mine do on my 95( I sand off the nib too ), you need a better bulb. I was using some pepboys kind, and was going through at least 1 a month. Since I've tried another brand of hyper white 1157's?? or are they 1156's??, and shaved the nib thing wrapped a piece of electrical tape to keep em snug, anyways I forget what brand they are cause thay haven't burnt out in like 6 months and counting.
I'll chech and post back.

MAN Sexima, your you've been stumped on this one!
I believe the fuse designation your looking for in the fuse box is called "parking lights". If you turn your parking lights on, and your clearance, turn signal side markers, and your taillights! DON'T come on...then it's your fuse! Just follow the list on the back of the box cover to parking lights and match em up...voila!!yank that SOB outta there!! Go to like Autozone or Kmart and look for a pack of like 5 (you may need some in the future for somethin else) might as well, they're only like a buck!

I've been struggling with it.
I don't think I checked the tails but I think my tails are fine...
the bad thing is right now, I left the key inside the car and locked it and I lost my remote controll...
this is a bad day...

Well why don't you test it out by replacing a the bulb with the stock bulbs. If it is indeed the fuse you can always go through the brute force method of finding the blown fuses, which is simply pulling out every fuse and locating the faulty fuse. There are fuse boxes in the engine compartment in the drivers side below the steering column to the left. Hope this helps.
