Accident side damage/steering broken(Pics)
I just had my first accident in 14 years..
My rear end spun(stock tires)at the bottom of a hill with a right turn to it, the car turned way to the right, I cranked the wheels like H to the left..at the same time I was skidding along the snowbank in the right lane...as soon as the car came down to the pavement...front tires grabbed hard(Blizzacks)and shot me to the left sideways across the road and the car behind me smacked me in the drivers side bouncing me head off the driverside door window and the car ended up in the median turned around backwords...I feel fine. Front door is bashed in, there's a small dent in rear door and the part that holds the mud flap is dented in. I was about 5 blocks from home and when I started driving home after the report was taken I soon realized that my steering was very unresponsive and after I pulled over, I could see my wheels were going in different directions ...so I had it towed home.
Sorry, the car is dirty as hell..roads have been nasty and it's 12 degrees out so I haven't washed it in a couple weeks. I'm waiting for a body shop to look at it that is a few blocks from me and they are going to come here since I can't drive it.
DONT EVER PUT SNOW TIRES JUST IN THE FRONT (

sorry to see that. gonna cost $$$$$ to fix.
i did a similar thing with my 93 in a blizzard, but i hit a fire hydrant instead of another car. was in the same spot tho, and the metal bolt from the hydrant gashed a huge hole in the door, all the way to the speaker area. was quoted 1300 dollars to fix just the panels. i ended up selling it a couple of months later for 500 bux.

Awww man, I'm sorry but that looks like identical to the damage to my last parts car, which was a pretty clean ride but I deemed it totalled, to much $$ to fix and it definitly needed to go on the frame machine.
In addition to a broken control arm & tie-rod, the kick panel by your left foot is probably bashed in and the part of the unibody that the control arm mounts to is more than likely tweaked.
Basically, allthough I can't be positive without pics from underneath & with wheel off. If you want that fixed right it's probably going to cost more than the car is worth even using JY parts. Sorry man

Man, sorry to hear that. I just rear-ended some lexus-drivin' attorney last week....bad news.
It seems as though everyone is wrecking their cars now....
At least you didnt hit any other cars/people and you didnt get ****ed up in the wreck....I'd say you're pretty luckly. On the other hand, I hate to say it but your car is most likely totataled...it looks like your frame is definately bent in addition to your tie rods, LCA, wheel hub/bearing, strut, steering assembly if your wheels are going differen directions typically thats not a good sign...

I found both tie rods are connected but one is bent causing one wheel to be going left and the other going right. I don't see any frame/unibody damage or even control arm damage luckily. I'll have to replace my tie rod and bring it somewhere good, the shop that I talked to yesterday forgot about me...
Tie rod bent
Actually the control arm looks bent in the picture...

The car should not be totaled. The car is turning in different directions is because the lower arm and the hub are disconnected. I would consider some more pics. The only way the car can be totalled is cause the frame is twisted and deepending on the accident. The pics are not enough to discribe the problem. The hub is probally shot.

Just slid through an intersection at an off ramp. A nice steady 5 mph slide. I'll post pics in the next couple days. Not sure what i'll be doing with it yet.

wow...I thoughtIt would be worse but those pics dont look as bad as I thought...that door will still cost a pretty penny. A shop quoted me 950.00 for a new drivers side door skin put on and painted...good luck

Doesn't look too bad. fanatic is in your state and has plenty of parts cars lying around. I'd get a list of parts needed and contact him. Probably lookin at around $500-1000 for parts and labor. Maybe less.

Update:
Fanaticrockford came over last night with the two doors and even installed them! The doors he brought are in great shape, there's some gooey stuff on the edges and a little smudge of dirt here and there that you can see in the pictures that will clean up easily. I also picked up a fender at a place near me and that went on too, the fender had some scapes on it but it will do for now. One problem that came up was with the drivers door, it wouldn't shut right no matter what we did. Looks like the area where the hinge bolts up to was pushed in enough to throw things off. A trip to a bodyshop will be nessesarry for that.
I might only need a tie rod now, the control arm looks bent in the picture but not up close..go figure.
Special thanks goes to Fanaticrockford for the huge help he was!
