Cold Start Stall

Just need a little confirmation on this one, I had this same problem a couple years back but just can’t remember exactly what I did to fix it

Happening on COLD days… when I start the car I will stall right away, unless I give it some gas and keep the RPM’s up. After a couple seconds if I let go of the gas everything is fine.

This isn’t the “5-10 sec to start” problem a lot of other people are having, its starts right away but stalls.

Now I did this fix almost 5 years ago now, if I am not mistaken isn’t the problem the TPS? throttle position sensor, I think I took it out & cleaned it to solve the problem.

Can you guys confirm I am barking up the right tree? I hate doing work on my car when its this cold out so I want to make sure I got it right.

Thanx

When was your last tune up ?

Clean your TB and your IACV and that should cure the problem

I am having the same problem ... but TB was just cleaned 2 or 3 years ago at dealership. Not sure if IACV was though. (Before I owned the car) I am thinking it may be the Temerature sensor. Did you check that. I heard of other people having this problem and the replacing tthe temperature sensor fixed the problem. Mine only does it when cold .. starts then stalls starts then stalls ... until i lightly press on the gas when cranking.

P.S. the reason I suggest the temperature sensor is because it tells your ecu when to adjust idle speed, mixture etc. for cold weather starting.
