Struts....(Recommendations)

I have some KYB GR2's...but I ran up on a curve some months ago, and ever since, they have been squeaking. I took my car to Midas, and they said nothing was wrong with my struts, despite hearing the noise. Well, in recent months the noise has become really annoying and I have decided to replace them.

I really have no price limit, but I don't want to get outrageous either. I like the way my car drives with the GR2's, but on these bumpy *** Philadelphia streets, I feel ever little incline and pothole. You guys have any recommendations for me?

GR2s are pretty soft, they are meant as OEM replacement struts but slightly firmer.

The squeaking you are hearing is most likely not from your struts. Check all the nuts and bolts in your suspension, tighten them all down and try again.

Maybe Konis? Only real decent strut available for our cars...great performance and very durable...do a search...

if you want an oem-like ride that is smoother than the gr2's, then get tokico HP's. if you want a solid ride that you can tune to your liking, get a set of tokico illuminas.

I failed to mention that I have my car lowered, with some H&R springs. That attributes to the ruff ride I know. Should I look into some coil overs or adjustable struts, like the kyb agx's?

Like said, the GR-2's and Tokico Blues are like stock replacements, if you can get them, try to get the adjustable, Tokico Illuminas or the KYB AGX.

Your GR2s might be blown (although I still would not attribute this to the squeaking). They are not meant for drop springs.

If you want the ultimate strut, go for Konis. Tokico Illuminas are the next step down and aren't as much work or $$. If you are complaining about ride then you do not want KYB AGX.

H&R's coupled with Illuminas ride the best.

From what I hear Konis ride better than Illuminas, I have illuminas right now and though they are pretty smooth they can get a little harsh on rough pavement. Doesn't really bother me as I am very tolerant, but it does rattle the **** out of everything

the squeak noise might be your springs. There is a sticky about this problem in the suspension thread. Mine are doing the same, I think what is happening is the springs(where the coils touch each other) the paint is wearing down and when they touch, rub against each other u get a squeak noise.

I had Konis on stock 5MT SE springs for a few thousand miles and it was pretty nice. Then again I haven't ridden in a stock 4th gen, but my buddy said it rode better than his 4th gen did stock.

Exactly what I'm looking for. Something that rides better than stock (hopefully without sacrificing comfort) I'm leaning more toward the Illumina's though for ease of installation and external adjustability but those Koni's with their adjustable perch in the rear sure is appealing.

anything that tags "sport" or "racing" on it is not going to be more comfortable than stock, if U like a firmer ride if that is more comfortable than stock to U then Id say do with Konis best thing for the 4th gen(after 2 months of research it was the conclusion I came up with), I got H&Rs on Konis and they are comfortable(I believe one of the most comfortable set ups for a 4th gen) I havent riden in any other lowered car more comfortable then my own, I think thats the way U want to go

Try using kyb agx awesome strut, not to bad on price, adjustable dampening and later on if you want to lower your car they work even better with an eibach pro spring kit.
