Code 05 05 - Engine bogging down

So here I was out driving around this evening enjoying the Max as always with some friends and I went to step down on the gas a little bit in 5th and it started bogging down hardcore, and was not getting any power. Anytime I would step on the accelerator a bit harder than normal it would continue to do it. It felt especially worse in 2nd and 3rd gears (to the point I could noticeably see the tachometer jumping up in increments, not steady like it normally would). Finally after about 20 min of driving the SES light flashed 5 or so times I believe and then stayed on. I just checked the code and it came back 05 05 - No Failure Recorded/Detected. Any ideas? I'll look into checking the spark plugs and stuff. And I have replaced a coil pack before, it feels similar to then but it isn't throwing a code for one.

SPECS on the car. year, mileage, mods, ect. sounds like a bad CPS on the tranny. remove the 10mm bolt and inspect it. clean it off then replace it. drive the car for a bit it may be rough but you want to trip the ecu again to see what comes up.

Sorry I thought that stuff was in my profile on the side. 97 Maxima 5-spd, just hit 145 k on it. Most everything is up to par with it, belts, oil change, spark plugs about 25k ago, newish clutch (6 months). No mods besides a K&N filter (that doesn't really count though). Oh actually I do have a custom exhaust on it but I doubt that has anything to do with it. Last week it did throw a KS and O2 code but I never noticed any issues gas mileage etc, reset it and have driven about 150 miles w/o those codes coming back.

it takes about a week for codes to come back in most cases. check the sensor first, better yet find a yard and pick up a used one cheap.

I believe flashing SES indicates a misfire. Even temporary misfires will register the code.
The O2 and KS codes WILL come back. Best to change them.

For the misfires, look at your Spark plug tubes to make sure they're not full of oil. The back set being full of oil is a comon issue. The fix is a set of valve cover plug gaskets. OEM replacements are recommended.

Alright well I guess that makes sense. My next question would be... what the hell causes a misfire!? I took the car out tonight and it took about 5 or 10 minutes of driving around until the car started doing it again. It is about 20 degrees here so that was about the time it took the car to get warmed up. It def doesn't feel like a coil pack because it isn't giving a rough idle, it only misfires when I step on it (and not necisarily hard, just going up to 3k or so ish). Could it be bad gas? Bad fuel filter? All of the above?? lol. My dads gonna take it into his shop tomorrow but they probably won't get to it until sometime next week. We'll see if they can figure it out

injector or spark plugs would most likely be the issue.

I will say It's the MAF because your engine Is bogging down and It's choking and shutting your car off In most cases. I will say that the misfire has to be the fuel injectors and there not pulsing right causing a misfire. Good luck on fixing the problem.
