One Piece Headlight Sets... worth it?

Hey all. I got in an accident the other day and cracked one of my headlights. I currently have the black housing headlights paired with the separate black housing clearance lights.

Since I have to get new headlights regardless, I saw the infamous one piece black headlights with the bulb conversion on ebay. I really like the look of these lights, but I seem to remember when they first came out from CE that people were complaining of a bad beam pattern. Just wondering how bad/dangerous the pattern is from the one piece headlights. Pics are appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info bro. Now, do the actual lighting abilities deteriorate (meaning less aimable/noticeable/amount of light) when compared to a more stock set up?

If you get them you would need a projector retro to make it worth it. For the short time i had these they sucked. Luckily i was able to return them under a 30 day money back no hassle policy. If you like the one piece look then go for the 1 piece cefiro lights. The r34's suck for the money there asking.

i had the r34's for a while and they looked fine. the factory lighting isnt very good to begin with, so the r34 IMO werent that bad. i ended up doing a dual bixenon retro in them however. i thought they were worth it tho for looks and decent output. the main thing is u can see at night. maybe not the best, but u can at least see.

Yeah i'm talking about the R34's. I don't feel like spending the extra on the body work if I were to do the cefiros. I guess I have my answer. I'm just going to throw the old stock ones back on that i have sitting on a shelf. (keep it cheap)

Thanks a lot for the input guys.

I think I may get them farther down the line, maybe spring. I'll see. I keep debating and cant make up my mind if I want to spend the $$$. Unfortunately, priorities have changed and house shopping is taking precedence over my car. (sad day, I know)

How tough are they (r34's) to install? Do you have to take off the bumper cover at all? From what I've read/remembered it's a few screws here and there and some clips to the grill... is this true?

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

I like the cefiros better than that beam pattern from the r34s... There isn't too much cutting from what i see on the tutorial... Just find out if its reversible... Thats if after you cut could you go back to stock...

One more question:

For those of you that have the R34's, what are the new bulbs (code/part #) that fit with these headlights.

So the black ones seem to present a problem? Well I recently bought the all clear chrome type. They actually arrived today while at work. Is there the same problem as well with the clear chrome version of the r34?

I like them a lot. just put them in 2 days ago. beam pattern is odd. I would say slightly worse than stock lighting, but the high beams are better. i got the set that came with side markers.

note on the sidemarker install: it didnt come with the little **** that is threaded on on side and pops into place on the other. I had to use my old ones, but the threaded side (side that screws into the back of the side marker) was too small. i took a bic pen and and a heat gun, melted it down and filled in the hole on the sidemarker. let it cool off and redrilled the hole to the size i needed, screwed in the little bastard. that was the only thing that kept my install from taking 20 minutes

def worth it though. looks amazing with the red paint

Steve,

IMO, the lighting abilities was noticeable worse than OEM. I opted for the S2K projector retrofit to fix that problem.

those are the "cefiro" headlights. There is plenty of information on this board about how those fit. If you can deal with poor fitment meaning you will need to stick an extra piece of weatherstripping to get a decent fit. Light output will be better than r34 but not as good as stock.
As for if you should get them... it's your money do as you see fit.

well there's no point of me getting these headlights then..if the stock light output is better...i want something nice but the only way is to retro them but i have no clue about that..and it will cost me more for projectors...etc....

i don't know why they don't got any projectors for 99 max...
