man, it took 7 hours to get my starter replaced but now the check engine light is on. i cant double check my connections until daylight but i am pretty sure i have all the connectors in place....double checked with a flashlight (had to fix the car in a parking lot). i noticed that when i was driving that the engine rpm's seemed to rev higher and go down faster as soon as i let go of the gas, while the speed barely goes down. if i hit 60mph, as long as my foot is on the gas pedal, the rpm is around 4k, as soon as i let go of my foot on the pedal, it drops down past 3000, in the 2000 range. this happen to anyone after they changed the starter?

i have a 96 gle v6 auto FYI.

The typical wires you might disconnect are air intake temp sensor and the mass air flow sensor when swapping out the starter. My first time doing it took me 45 mins and I'm slow.

45 min????? well it took a while b/c i didnt have the tools to remove the bolts. hehe,i'm not that strong i guess, had to have a 18inch ratchet to finally move it. i dont know how in the world you removed all the connectors to wiggle the starter out.

i'll recheck the hoses and connectors today.
