can fed car cat fit on/in cali car

can fed car cat fit on/in cali car

i think my cat went bad and im about to buy one from an org member. He has a 99 5 speed and so do i. The only difference i think is his car is fed spec while mine's cali spec. Will this cat still fit.? what do you guys recommend?

cats should be the same. the front exhuast tube is a different story.

Yes they will work, the exhausts are the same after the y pipe.

ok.sounds good.are thy all welded on or do some come with bolts? i think im still on stock which i think would mean its bolted....so wouldnt wanna do any welding there, but instead get a new one tht can be bolted on.

What do you mean? All of the stock exhausts have the cat bolted between the Y and the B.

Well the reason i asked was that i was looking into getting a new cat from this guy.however he said he would have to cut it off and that its a universal cat.so i asked him why he has to cut it off, he said it was welded on.

Well in his case with the universal, it makes sense.

Otherwise though, on (most) any OE replacement cat there'll be flanges and it'll be bolted between the Y and B.

ohh,ok.well...i guess ibtter leave it alone.i can be sure mine is bolted on,....not planning to weld anything on under there.
