BANGING EXHAUST

About 4 months ago my buddy installed a full greddy sp2 exhaust on my car...the b-pipe is hanging incredibly low to the ground and when it is wet out or raining the b-pipe rattles like crazy against my gas tank and is very loud and annoying to listen to...does anyone have any advice on how i could get that to stop.

thanks

Your muffler's hanger aren't supporting your catback well enough, causing your B-Pipe to sag. Replace the old ones with stronger hangers and you should be set.

Google Walker Exhaust, they make replacement hangers that are much stiffer than stock, and don't cost an arm and a leg. NAPA stocks them.

I took mine to a local exhaust shop, they fixed me up by putting on new hangars, only took them 10 minutes and it only cost me $10. I cant hear a thing now from my exhaust other then the muffler.

I had/have the same problem. It is just your hangers, like everyone else said. Mine still does it, but only when I get some wheel hop or something like that.

Well after I read this thread, I went to Midas and they wanted to charge me over $500 for new exhaust. I said can't you just put new hangars on the B-pipe (my rubber supports were intact). They finally said that they can make "an improper temp. repair" for $179 and its this expensive because of all the labor to fabricate. I left with the quote thinking that were ripping me. Do I need a muffler shop or can most body shops attach hangers like the ones from Napa? Do these need to be welded?

I posted my progress here:
