This is sadly true - driving on snow is not hard at all - but some people really manage to F it up. Or they overdrive the conditions.

But when it comes to tires, some tires won't grip no matter who's driving and how they do it. Summer tires on packed snow = stuck in the parking lot. Every time.

The ASX is a not-bad all-season. But if you ever try snow tires you'll find that all-seasons aren't as good.

Very true. My roommate had Azenis on his car last winter... he couldnt leave the parking spot until the snow completely melted

you know what I've learned though. No matter WHAT the situation is ... 90% of the time i could get out of it in reverse..... I've gotten stuck on a slight uphill road with packed snow... Ive tried side to side, Ive tried high speed, Ive tried rocking it back and forth, Ive tried slow 2nd gear pull, nothing just seemed to work. Than for some reason i just taught id try reverse and got out like it was nothing. 10 min later i got out of a ditch in reverse...(I used to deliver news papers so i get close to the tubes... sometimes too close)

Dude!!! My first car was an 81 Datsun 210 Fastback (that's what they called the hatchback). It was dessert yellow. One of the moldings came off the fender, and it was "painted" in place. Still, every other weekend, someone would knock on my door and ask if it was for sale.

Loved that car.
