RSB + weak chassis = Creak ARGH

So I finally got around to installing my RSB on my 99 i30t and immediately notice the car creaks around corners and uneven surfaces. Now I'm paranoid that this thing is hurting my car and so I don't even corner fast anymore ..... although when I do, the nose does stay in really nice. I was wonderin if any of you guys have had one for a long time if it causes any problems

I didnt go for the rsb but i did get the rear sway and it made a nice diff. Usually suspension mods make the most impact in groups/combinations.

try to lube up the 2 poly bushing that should have come with the bar. Those will squeak like mad if they are dry.
Red chassis lube is best, but just about any white grease will work.

The problem is, I do know it's the car... when I sit in back, the creak come from overhead

Depending on how sound resonates in your car and where it goes will determine where you hear the squeak from. Did you have this squeak before you installed the rsb?

I would try to pick up some of that chassis lube that I mentioned eariler and lube up the bushings. You would be surprised just how annoying a squeaking sway bar can become. You stated that you didn't have a squeak, you installed the swaybar and now you do. Leads me to one conclusion.

Maybe you are right and your car is falling apart. Sell it to me for $1.00. Thanks.

I'll give you $1.02.

You can turn up the music, you won't hear any creaks from any bushings.

lube the bushings on the sway bar. for flexing chassis issues, grab a front/rear strut bar and underbody chassis brace.

When I first installed my progress rsb I had this metallic scratching noise when I went over bumps. Turns out that the brackets I had to take off the arm due to the new brackets of the rsb were rubbing against it making the noise. I ended up insulating the metal on metal contact and using large zip ties to secure it. Results: No more noise

Check it out, take the wheel off and move the things around to see if you can duplicate the sound.

Of course! So you can wipe more off when they get squeezed between the bushing and the bar.
