creaking noise driver side
creaking noise driver side
There is a creaking noise on my front driver side....I usually hear it when I go over bumps and pot holes and stuff in the road...anyone know what a common issue of this might be? Is it shocks? Do I need to tighten something?
I have the same thing. it is more of a tick/jingling for me. if you take your wheels off there is a large "bolt" sort of speak. This is at the dead center of your break/wheel/hub assembly if you look at it a bunch and fiddle with it you will understand what it is.
The sound is a small little plate that is used as a spacer between a pin and a large nut that . the spacer is not completely stable thus the little tick/jingling from the motion of your wheel spinning.
All you have to do when you find something wrong with your car check it out completely and then come ask on the forum.
Funny thing is I just looked at mine tonight and fixed it in about 10min.

It is most likely your swaybar endlink bushings, LCA bushings or lower tie rods. Take the wheel off, see what bushing is busted and replace it.
My drivers side has been "clunking" for over 6 months due to a busted swaybar endlink bushing.
it could be so many things... it would help if you gave a better description of the sound. Does it sound like it's coming from down near your wheel? or above the wheel? i had a creaking/grinding noise every time i went over any sort of bump on the road and it turned out to be the strut mounting insulator (its a part of the strut assembly). You can tell if your strut mounting insulator is shot by opening your hood and have someone looking at the top of your strut while you turn the wheel in either direction. If the middle bolt moves from center... then thats your problem.. if it stays in the center then its something else. Of course, this is all assuming that your creaking noise is coming from the strut assembly not your wheel/axle. Could be too many things.
