Transmisson Leaking where axle goes into tranny. PICTURES!
Ok so I just replaced my axle seal on my drivers side axle and now I have a leak. Could this be the seal? Or is my axle not all the way in? Here is a picture of my driver side axle going into the tranny. It is a slow leak but you can see the moisture in these pics.

The axle looks to be all the way in from the first picture. Did the old axle seal leak or did the leak just happen after you installed the new seal?
Did the axle click into the transmission when you installed?

Not new, but in many cases a leaking axle seal is the first symptom to show that 5 speed needs rebuilt.

What do you want people to say? Yes, it could be that it's not all the way in, but from your pictures, as blurry and vague as they are, it appears the axle is all the way in the trans. Thus people are suggesting a differential bearing problem.
You're not going to figure things out by asking hypothetical questions and getting speculative answers based on your hypothetical questions, you need to get under the car and see if it's all the way in there or not. That's the only way you are going to solve this problem.
How your trans feels has nothing to do with anything. Failing differential bearings don't affect the transmission's shifting feel.

You won't feel worn diff bearings when shifting. Sometimes the next thing is damage to the ball bearings on the input shaft caused by the particles of the diff bearings. Sometimes the slop from the worn bearings causes a gear to shred off all of it's teeth. In any case, the next thing after you notice a leaky axle is a very expensive thing.
It looks like your axles is snapped in. You'll know it's in when you pull straight out and the axle won't come out.
My point is you should check for looseness in the diff per the link I posted. Now is by far the cheapest time to learn and address the problem. If you wait too long you will need a new tranny.

Little update. I brought it to my mechanic and he said " on older cars there might be a tiny leak or two that does not need to be addressed right now and you do not have to concerned about the transmission fluid unless there is a steady flow pouring out."
Isn't the slow leak eventually going to lead to no tranny fluid? And that would 100% mean that I would need a new tranny?

Observe common sense. Check the oil level in the tranny every 1000 miles at first, then 3000miles if the level isn't changing much. The important thing is that you never run less than, say, 1/2 quart low. It takes a lot more than the occassional drip to do that.

yes that is where i am at right now it started as a leak i toped it off as much as i could
do u notice a weird noise when the car is at idle then when you push the clutch in its gone?
or your car seems kinda loud when increasing speed?
its a bearing and its getting looser and looser
speaking of which if anyone has a rebuilt tranny shoot me an email smai555@yahoo.com
thanks
