Just curious, did you switch to 10 30? I remember someone telling me for higher milage to use 10 30... I now have 160k and I'm still using dino, but on the next oil change will switch to mobil 1 synthetic... Should I get 5 30 or 10 30?

It wont matter once the car is at operating temp. I'd say 5-30 for the winter 10-30 for the summer.

I have always been warned on switching to synthetic to not do it because if you have a lot of miles on your car there are typically more cracks in line and whatnot so you would leak a lot of oil. but i dont know how true that is so dont quote me on that.

Mixing oils will damage and breakdown the oil chemicals and From what I have heard and read on some oil bottles and some manuals,If you mix up oil you can increase your chances of damaging your engine.

Well i know mobil 1 has a high mileage syntehic oil, i havent looked into it but i figured it was more or less a marketing gimmick. So with 160k what is recomended, stick with dino walmart oil or go to syntetic (regular or high mileage)
Why worry about engine sludge?
