To be brutally honest, I will be using the KSports for a period of a month, or two... then removing them and giving them to a cousin as his birthday present. Kills two birds with one stone. Sounds weird, I know... but it gets the job done.

 

why don't you just buy it and give it too him instead of pointlessly using it for a month? it will save you the hassel and possible suspension component damages (cv boot, axle, etc), not that your gonna run into those again when you get JIC's...

 

seriously, first of all youre giving him used parts for his bday? wtf?
second of all, save yourself the hassle of taking the suspension apart a second time for no reason

He is fully aware that he will be getting used coilovers. And due to the $2k (give or take) pricetag of the JICS, I cannot afford to go RIGHT into them, but I would rather have SOMETHING than factory until I wait for them.

I have access to several lifts, so taking suspension apart more than once isn't an issue.

If you do get K-Sports you will be on them longer then a month or if not you would just by the JICs.

 

Well, if we want to break down the math...

I have $1000ish of liquidated assets right now. Give or take a few dollars. I am going to be getting back $5890 in late May.

And since I have no outstanding bills, I feel I can grace a family member with his first real modification for his new car.

And, just FYI, people are FAR too worried about what I am doing... and not worried enough about what THEY should be doing.

 

Maybe one of these days someone will look at the replies they got, see reason within them, and save $. Sorry for giving you advice.

I hope you are going to run a narrower tire on the front. Even then you still are going to need to camber in the front some to get them to fit right without rubbing. I'd like to see what they'll look like when its actually lowered and fitted right. To each his own on their opinions on wheels I'm not a huge fan of those but to you for stepping out of the box of what people normally do on here and doing what YOU want which is all that really should matter anyways. I think the drop will make a big difference and either way it will look 20Xs better slammed on whatever rims are on it.

 

If you dont want people to comment on what "your doing" dont post up any info about it. No one needs to know that your buying K Sports to use for a month and then give them away, just like no one really needs to know that your later going with JICs.
You however feel the need to inform everyone so just deal with the comments.

I think vip is the best way to go with a maxima...personally hence the reason why i put 18x9.5 rims on mine. but im still slow

As far as this thread goes, build the car you want. What looks big/wrong/dumb to us really doesn't matter. I do think it's funny that you throw out all this bada'ss experience you have making the sickest rides of all time and are putting K-Sports on your car. That's a s'hit gift by the way as the pillow ***** will be clunking away in no time and your family member will be introduced to doing it wrong and doing it over.

about the original...i do like the wheels but i just dont see them being pulled off on that car, but to each his own. i won't discourage you from doing what you want to YOUR car...good luck man and show us what you end up with.
