Fog light rewire problem

I have a 99 SE-L auto. I tried the fog light rewire where you run a wire from the relay box to the 12v signal on the bumper lens (http://www.vqpower.com/v2/readarticle.php?article_id=31). However, I somehow idiotically managed to touch the free end of the wire against a relay and I blew a 15amp (IIRC) headlight fuse. I replaced the fuse, which fixed the headlights if they were returned to stock (I cut the wire I ran between the relay box and the hole in the fender). However, my main problem is that when I do twist the wires back together to try to get the mod to work, and I turn on the running lamps, the fog lights turn on along with the clearance lights and rear bumper lamps, but the driver's side headlight (not even the passenger side) also flips on. Is there a fuse I've blown that I've missed somewhere, such as under the dash, or have I semi-cooked a relay or what? I'm pretty sure I got the right relay box wire as well. I'm just out of ideas as to what it could be.

You've got a wire crossed somewhere. Go over your work once again.

The wiper relay? No thanks.

I've opened up the relay box again, and everything looks fine. Unless someone can magically solve this, don't worry about it. The clearance light mod (clip the high bulb nub) works well enough that I can actually use the running lamps now.

well the problem lies in your wiring. You tapped into the wrong wires somewhere. You need to go back and retrace. This is not a hard mod. And just tap into the corners, not the wiper blades. Better IMO. But you tapped the wrong wire in the relay I'm pretty sure.

nothing. just think tapping into one of the actual running lights is better. Thats just my preference.

All he needs is a constant power. He could have used 3" of wire instead of 2'. This is such an easy mod. OP. go to vqpower.com and reread the instructions.

The reason the headlight is turning on is because most likely the OP tapped into the wire on the fog light relay instead of cutting it off and feeding the power from the corner light to the relay itself.

That's it. I had the right wire, but somehow read to tap the wire instead of cutting it That explains a lot.
