Tein S.Tech .....Authentic?!....PICTURES!

So I recently bought a set of Tein S.Techs from ebay.

Yes. Ebay. I know I should buy them from an authorized dealer to have the warranty and authenticity, but I just wanted to save money. Hah.

Anywho, I am aware that there ARE fake Teins out there. Their disclaimer can be found on their website. Here is a link:

http://www.tein.com/counterfeit/index.html

This is the set I bought from ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Tein-...spagenameZWD1V

The only thing that really would hint that they're fake to me is that the TEIN logo is not printed on fine, but rather sloppy. So the springs came in the other day and I checked them out. Here are some pics:

My camera sucks so I couldn't get a really clear picture of the Tein logo. But the logo still isn't as fine as I think it should be.

These are still sitting in my trunk until I let some more people check it out to see if they're real. I wanted to get some feedback from 4th gen owners who have purchased S.Techs or any owners that have purchased some on ebay.

You can't try to put images from a Yahoo mail account inline here...

Upload them to a real host.

well as of now i have no conclusion. they are sitting in the box still. i will not put them on my car unless i have no doubt that they won't give out on me in 20,000 miles because they are fakes.

also, if you look at the ebay seller's feedback, it's mostly positive and people say it's authentic.

i would really like to hear from people who have dealt with these springs before.

Could you just give the serial #'s on the springs and box to Tein and have them verify?

They look real to me.

Those are real. I've seen the real ones in person. If your still not convinced call Tein with the serial number.

How are you sure? I don't mean to sound like I'm doubting you but how could you tell they are authentic and not just a well made replica. Did you let a shop put the springs in or do it yourself? I just don't want to put these on my car if they could put my life and the lives of those with me in danger and my car at risk of damage.

I think it's safe to say that I love my car and I know probably all of us here love ours too and I wouldn't let my girlfriend wear a fake Gucci purse so why let my car sit on fake Teins?

so you knew there was a chance of fakes, bought it anyway, and are doubting it because "the print on the logo isn't as fine as you think it should be"?

seems like you should have either bought authorized or been ready for a lot worse.

I would, as another poster said, contact Tein with the numbers. I have personally seen Tein replicas twice and both of them had the "TEIN" logo on the actual spring in the form of a sticker. I have Tein coilovers and the logo is painted on the spring.

I actually bought those springs from ebay about 3 weeks ago. They've been on my car ever since. The logos are printed just like the authentic teins on the website. So far no problems at all...

LOL. Don't be a baby man we care.

Need a LITTLE more than the primered out car slammed on +45 chrome beater wheels though. I know things take time but based on your concepts I want to see some of that come to life.

look on the tein site and they tell you how to spot a counterfeit. Those you have as according to the specs on the site, are real.

Hope not. Got em in! Took 3 days but I got em in.

HAHAHA.

OK well the springs themselves took like 3 hours to do.

But the figuring out that replacing the cv axle would be better that fixing my old ****ty one took 2 days. Looks good though! Front drop is good but rear I would like a little more. Looks a little uneven but sill good. Lot less body roll. I might post some pics later.

Thanks!
