Best would be to take a look through the FSM, see what the system consists of, really. USDM Maximas didn't have a Sport/Econo option, so can't really be of help.

Happened to me too. Twist the shifter left and right and look for the light. Mine will come on some when I do that. I think the wire is loose or something.

oh i thought us,asian and european maximas had same transmission...

You can see it on my signature,my bro has 2.0 liter from 1998 while i have 3.0 from 1995...
Exact same transmission tho..

I have to ask in I30 forum then, can a mod or admin move it, or do i have to start a new thread there?

Im not sure exactly what sport does, so i rly would like to make it work...and i dont mean overdrive..

And i have no manual FSM or anything

Wrong. And wrong again.

There were a lot of other options on overseas Cefiro's and Maxima's. And they offered them with 2.0, 2.5 or 3.0 L engines...

We don't have that option here in the US..

I would assume the shifts would be faster but I doubt it. Try to find an international FSM and see what it is suppose to do, or look in your owners manual

ignorant ignorant people, thinking america is all that exists...

Usually what sport buttons on an automatic do is set the shift points at higher rpms. Econ mode is for earlier shifts to keep the rpms down and save gas. Now I dont have a sport mode on my maxima so im not saying this for sure, but for other cars this is what happens most of the time. You arent going to 'feel' the power cause it doesnt cause any extra power. Just allows the car to rev higher between shifts.

My sport button is controlled by my left foot

I didn't say that maximas don't exist outside of America...it's a Japanese car...

I just never knew it came in 2.0L, as that's not really a lot power for a car of this size.
