Ecu and whatnot help

OK so I gotta say I am much more of an electronics person then knowing about engines it is really recently that I have decided to make my Maxima has good as I can. I want a good ecu or whatever I would use to tune my car to increase its performance. What should I look for im looking blind.... I would also like the ability to have a screen that i can see while i drive what my 0 - 60 timing as well as 1/4 mile timings.
