help! 3 alternators gone ?

help! 3 alternators gone ?

so ive changed out my alt. 3 times now and i have no idea of whats going on someone told me it could be the power cable to my sub amp . it drives fine for 4 to 5 days and then the brake and battery lights come on which means that the alt. is gone. also the tension pulley has snapped but it still works fine i doubt it but could ths have any thing to do wit it?? any suggestions ??

well, i was going to say, get one from autozone with a life time warranty and just keep changing it out

BUT! on their website they have alternators for the GLE, and GXE...and a separate one for the SE. (GLE, and GXE = 100 AMP...SE=110 AMP) -- maybe that's common knowledge, but new to me! Are you telling whomever you are buying the alt from that you have an SE,GLE, or GXE?


and have you looked into the recall?

and have you looked into the recall?
Not sure that will make that much difference unless he has a HUGE system...also, don't you connect the amp power cable to the battery?

I've never hooked one up/installed one, so I dont know. I was just passing on that information from autozone.

yeah u do connect it to the battery but someone told me it could have something to do with it

any 1 have an opinion on the tension pulley like i said befor i doubt that it has something to do with it but i just wanna be sure
