cutting bump stops

woohoo. I m ready for installation, i bought my struts from cattman, and their boots/bumpstops(one piece).
My question is that:
do i need to cut the bumpstops, since i m lowering the car to prevent my struts from bottoming out?
I m still confused on how the suspension bottoms out, or what it means, any one willing to explain? pwease
thanks

cut them in half or so. Im lowered 1.6 inches and I only cut off 1 ring from the bump stops. I have about an inch and a half until it botoms out but its not a problem so far.

my struts are kyb agx's and b+g springs (1.6" drop), the bump stops i got are not factory, they are from cattman, and they are attached to the strut boot.
has anyone installed kyb agx's with cattman boots yet??? If so are we suppose to cut them?

Those are strut/spring covers goes on top of the springs, has the 3 bolts welded to them.
bump stops go on the strut rod, its just a little rubber piece, that prevents the shock from bottoming out. When i bought my agx's the lady said nothing about these, but i asked for them and she said it should work.
The only reason for me questioning the cutting of them is because i am lowering the car.

Yes, I've installed them, don't cut the bump stops, you should be fine.
