Intake manifold gasket

Well ive had my Dek in for about 1 1/2 months now and i decided to remove the swirl valves. i removed the intake manifolds and took the lower manifold to the nearest machine shop and he cleaned and welded the swirl valve holes for $132.50 after taxes. (ill try to post some pics later) now i have it back and i was debating weather to use the old gaskets or get new ones??? i tried to price new ones, i called the nearst parts supplier and advanced auto parts they both dont sell intake gaskets for a 00-01 Maxima??

well how bad are the old one's?
just get a vin off a 00-01 and tell that to nissan it prob isnt that much for the gasket.

if you have no cracks, tares or swelling you are fine.

when I did the VI swap I used new lower intake manifold gaskets and I also used a new upper IM gasket. Also, though it's not mandatory, I applied a small bead of copper RTV in addition to the LIM gaskets. Didn't use any RTV on the UIM gasket. Everything worked out fine with no leaks. New gaskets are worth the money in the end, to rule out the possibility of a massive vac leak after you put everything back together!

that's odd that they didn't have them in stock, the local dealerships around here had them in stock and didn't need to order them. If you're unable to track the gaskets down, you can clean up the old ones, reuse them and apply some RTV as cheap insurance.

Well check out the nearest Nissan dealership's parts dept. If you're willing to drop 132.50 on cleaning swirl valves then you should be ready for Nissan's price on a DEK UIM gasket. I'm assuming its in the area of ~$40.

rockauto.com 6.16+shipping for the upper . but in all honesty you could probley reuse the gasket for the upper. but i would deffently get new ones for the lower when i did mine it cost about 30 bucks a peice from the stealership. i know i over paid but i paid for the convience of having it that day
