Nankang NS-II Tire Defect Question

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well I have had these tires on my Summer 18's since I purchased them and I noticed a small bubble that formed on one of the front tire sidewalls.

My question is, how bad is this ?? Most likely I will need to replace the tire, but how bad is it really ??

Any bubble is bad, and its the faintest bubble.

Wait, you asked a question and answered it yourself? I'm confused.

Most likely you curbed the tire at some point.

You either curbed it, or hit a fairly significant pot hole. Thats how most of the bubbles form, but it is a cheaper tire which is why it could have formed easier then other tires..

You pretty much answered your own question, but you should be okay for a bit, i would watch for pot holes though.

What size is it, low sidewall? If you can, put it on the back for now, but if it bothers you just replace it.

Sidewalls shouldn't bubble. You may be able to get a replacement if you go to a certified Nankang dealer... ok, they could be hard to find.

I had a similar issue with a Kumho. It was replaced but the tire was prorated due to the wear. You could call who you bought it from and use the word "safety" a lot. Sometimes that makes them more responsive.

You know there was a recent recall on those cheap made in China tires! Let's face it... that country is a master of imitation. It look good, but it's not worth s@#t! We need to outlaw their products over here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!
