Radar Hardwire *Pics*

So, after asking around a little bit and learning how everyone else wired their radar's I decided to see if I couldn't find an easier way. The way I approached it, being incredibly lazy, was to go through the defroster vents and straight down and splice into the cigarette lighter, and as it turns out there is room to get the wire down and through!

So you don't have to go across the dash and down the A-Pillar =D

Cell Phone pics, apologies.

I just mounted the damn thing where the clock usually goes, very stealth and makes wiring a lot easier. Never a problem with signal detection either, save for LIDAR (obviously).

I thought I was obstructing the radar's usefulness w/ the windshield wipers, but the whole unit in the dash? Hmmm ok

Verified it a couple times with Merlyn's...whatever the hell he has, I forget now. Has built in GPS, can set waypoints and shows current speed, etc. Top of the line like two years ago.

In any case, the two almost always went off at the same time, except for a few false alarms that his didn't pick up (mine was a cheap POS one from SAC).

Cobra EDS-7000, sister gave it to me for free heh

I don't plan on relying on it, it more or less acts as a reminder not to speed =/

I wouldn't apologize for those pics, they look REALLY good for being taken on a cell phone. Nice job on the wiring too.

Wow looks good, now how about hiding that GPS wiring. That looks messy too.

I thought about it, but I move it between cars sometimes, and I often like to take it down and hide it in shady areas, so it was just easier to leave it soft wired

The pics are fine for a cell phone. I find that if I clean the lens of the camera before taking the pics, they come out much better!
Thanks for the pics.
