womp, womp, womp?
I have been hearing this sound for a while now. A low frequency womp, womp, womp sound. Gets worse when turning, have not noticed if right or left is worse.
I have been through the brakes (new pads, rotors, greased pin), no change.
replaced driver axle (second torn boot), new boots on passenger last fall, no change.
Put the tires off the 08 Max on it, no change.
Nothing loose that I can tell.
Read the stickies about wheel bearings. Is that it? If so, how do I confirm and tell which side?

Is your sound consistent with vehicle speed and wheel rotation? Meaning - the faster you're traveling, the more pronounced your vibration becomes? If so, I would say yes, its the wheel bearings. Jack up the front of the car, wiggle the wheel up and down and side to side with the tire still on. Should be little play but nothing worth writing home about. If you have significant play or looseness, then I would narrow it down to that one wheel and have the bearing replaced. Personally, I would buy new wheel bearings for both sides, then remove the whole hub assembly, take it to a shop with the new part and have it hydraulically pressed in. Labor using this method shouldn't cost you more than $30 or so per side. Good luck.

Mine seems to be more noticeable turning left, but it is there turning right as well. Increases with speed. I jacked it up and tried to move each wheel and there is no play that I can tell. All wheels roll freely. I guess I just live with it like others said until it gets worse. When the bearing went out on my D-max it was obvious. 1/2 of play or so.

I had this problem as well a few years back on my '97 Max and the shop I go to said it was my front strut plates, had them replaced along with new struts and the problem was gone. I had the same sounds and vibrations and they were worse when turning. Not sure if there's a connection but thought I would throw this out there.

It could possibly be the tranny. (this is if its really not a wheel bering which would totally be more likely) Ive only personally had experience with a similar sound being the tranny once and it wasnt a maxima it as a 91 accord. have it checked by a transmission specialist if its really loud and your sure its not the bearing
