At least post a picture of your car so that we can give some opinions of wheel color choice.

chrome looks horrible on white paint imo..

I've had the following wheels on my car:

15" Stock Sawblades
18" OEM G35C wheels (offset was too low)
17" 2004 SL wheels (good fitment, but too silverish, and too heavy)
17" 350Z wheels (didnt like the spoke pattern)
17" 2003 5.5 Gen SE wheels (great look, but too heavy)
17" Chrome Motegi SP-10 wheels (hated the "hyperblack" chrome on white)

I finally settled on 18" Altima SE-r wheels, which fit, look and drive great (they are light).
I came to realize that the only really good color on a white car is a dark grey or gunmetal shade...

here are 5 pics

two more things.....

first off here is a thread i wrote up about my various stages of noobness throughout the past year. i think you will find it helpful.

http://forums.maxima.org/members-rid...rg-no-56k.html

also, the way you post picture up of your car is to register on a site like www.photobucket.com and upload pics.
once they are uploaded, there is an "IMAGE CODE" that each picutre generates, which you can copy/paste onto a message you are about to post.

Why not consider white?
Black is sooo played out, if I hadnt have done the two tone thing I would still be rocking the all white look. I may go back one day.

You wasted over 700.00 because you didnt do more research on the wheels you bought before hand. There all OEM wheels, the specs for them are bound to be on the net. You didnt even post the offset/weights for any of the wheels you just listed so your not really helping in the dept. Im sure he appreciates the help, but like i stated before you could have just linked to the other threads you posted those very same pics in.

fine. point taken.

and yes i did oodles of ****ing research on the OEM wheels, maybe not on the G35s, but all the sets after that i did.
the LOOK is what i didnt know about...how it would look on my car.
those 04 SLs i thought were pretty nice wheels, but put them on a white car and they look like ****.

15" OEM Sawblades = (16 lbs) 15 x 6.5 with a 40mm offset
18" G35c = (~25 lbs) 18 x 8 with a 30mm offset
17" 2004 SL = (~23.5 lbs) 17 x 7.5 with a 38mm offset
17" 350Z = (~23.25 lbs) 17 x 7.5 + 17 x 8 (staggered) with a 30mm offset
17" 2003 5.5 SE = (~24 lbs) 17 x 7 with a 40mm offset
17" Motegi SP-10 = (~17.5 lbs) 17 x 7 with a 40mm offset
18" Altima SE-r = (~18.5 lbs) 18 x 8 with a 45mm offset (<-- this sat the most flush of them all)

not that these numbers mean anything to a noob - they didnt to me when i first started in on all this

Did you ever consider maybe the height is playing a factor?
Those 17" 2004 SL's look pretty good on the Max. My buddy Dubbya has them on his white 95 and with a bit of a drop they look pretty good. Clean and subtle. The look really nice when rolling.
I know Ive seen lots of vehicles with ok wheels, but when lowered it made there overall look sooo much nicer. I think without a drop, the wheel gap draws ones eye more to it vs. the wheels.

and what help did you offer?

you're really not in a position to be telling ppl what/what not to do. play your role nooblet.

---

imo, black/gunmetal wheels don't look great on white cars. chrome is cool, but not cheap cheesey chrome. i wouldn't go chrome unless you plan on spending decent money. white on white is a nice look and you can't go wrong with a good ol' silver/machined/polished wheel.

well really you're confused as to what flushness is, which is ok just don't go preaching it. next thing you know it'll be a ton of people wondering why their 8" wide +45 aren't flush. hell my 9.5 +45 are only semi-flush with narrowed 1/4 panels.

the se-rs are the most flush by my standards.

surely a helluva lot better fitting than the Gs, where they stuck out 2 inches on eithe rside.

theres a lot of variables in how wheels look on a car. i'm pretty sure that you were running g35 tire sizes and i know you were at stock height. those things affect how you perceive the fitment but numbers don't lie.

flush (when pertaining to wheel fitment) is a new buzzword and because of that people through it around loosely.

9.5 +35... true flush, so how could a 8 +30 be?

Good god people, stop arguing. Next time someone bashes Flava, Im gonna bash your head in.

Flava, rockart was just trying to help. He could have posted a link but decided not to.

On to the topic: No chromes on white. Its ugly. Gunmetal/dark colors look great(Kazera KZB, Kosei K1-TS, OZ Ultraleggera, SSR Comp C, etc etc). White rims(depending on spoke count, I.E. Gram Lights 57maximum) look awesome too. Silver rims look good depending on the rest of the car(blacked out lights? clear corners etc). The 5Zigen FN01-RCs, Enkei RPO-03s, Kosei K1tS etc look awesome on a white max. Im also a big fan of 5spoke rims. Easier to clean, sometimes lighter, and can look a lot more classy and less 'cheap' per se on car.

This is all just opinion. Buy what you like.

These came on the car when I bought it. The owner got them from a bodyshop when the car was sideswiped a few years back. I'm honestly thinking of selling them. However the finish on some of the wheels needs to be redone. One of the rims also might have a slight bend...not sure which.

I'm considering selling the rims, but likely will keep the tires. For 18's, the rims themselves are only 17lbs.
