What temp is your motor?

I installed the autometer water temp gauge. What i did was just disconnect the stock water temp sender and just connect the aftermarket one to there, since my stock one didnt work. My question is..did i stop anything else from working properly by doing this?

My temp is always at 230, is this a little high? When i stop at a light for a while it increases purdy quick...since it is about 105 around here and i am boosted.

Anything i can do to help lower this? I already ordered hood spacers to help vent the heat.

I'd get an tranny cooler If your an auto and I am sure you have an oil cooler because your boosted. I would go with the hoodscopes.

The normal temp readings are from 205-210 but anything abit over Is okay and If your in the 225 or over that's not normal.

Are your fans working properly? If so, are they moving enough air? I wonder if your intercooler is causing some flow problems for the radiator?

Are your fans controlled by the temp sensors? Have you considered rigging them up to a manual switch instead?

I am pretty sure the fans are triggered by the temp sensor. Your fan should click on once the coolant temp gets to 205

AC off, engine temp <205 = No Fans
AC off, engine temp >205 = 1 Fan
AC on, engine temp <205 = 1 Fan
AC on, engine temp >205 = 2 Fans

I think this is all correct, hope it helps

It also varies by speed.

Interesting that the Fed and Cali spec ECUs control the fans differently...
