The blower resistor is broken. Its a common issue, its fails due to corrosion. Its located under the dash on the passengers side. Its a pretty easy fix.

JSutter has it, blower resistor is toast. It should be on the passenger side under the glove box and is held in place with two screws. It is a 10 minute fix and should cost $30-35 if i remember correctly.

yep(Resistance-Elec Part-#27150-2J000 ) or you could fix yours if you know how to solder

I agree, it's a super easy fix - 2 phillips screws and one electrical connector. But I do remember having to lie on my back on the passenger seat with my head under the dash to see what I was doing. Like most things would be way easier the second time around - 5 minutes tops.

How do you know if existing one is bad or not? I have a multimeter and thinking about measuring resistance value between each terminal. Any one has any idea, what should be the value? I have removed the resistor because of the fan not working on 1,2 and 3. Also, taken some pictures for those interested in seeing before putting their hand on the job. If anyone interested, I can post it here if allowed.

What model and year of the car?

How do I add picture?

Finally, my new parts arrived. I paid $33+9.95 (s & h) to Nissanpart.cc. Plugged in and it worked like original.

I compared Old v/s New, and it looks like a tiny silver block (resistor) was corroded on my old one. That may be the problem. New part is little smaller on the resistor side, but connector side is same.

Thanks to people on Maxima.org Forum. I took few pictures, I don't know how to add here. If anyone interested, I will be glad to send them. This Job is very easy. The hard part is research and finding the location of resistor. Now, that I have pics it will be easier for others. Saves money. I am sure dealer will hate this..

Then insert the link of each picture in the window that pops up. You will have to add one picture at a time
