ash tray light?

when i was installing my radio i noticed that in my ashtray there is a light that doesnt work. i tried to see if it was disconnected but theres no power to it. why would there be a lite that doesnt have any power connection to it?
or maybe someone disconected it and cut the power cord???

there should be two connections one for the 12v source(wich is orange and black wires i belive) and one for the light you might want to look good inside the middle console as sometimes when i remove my radio i have to remove the ashtray and when i disconnect it, it'll fall in there and u just have to look for it! i dont see why anyone would cut it?
