gettin in to gear issues
gettin in to gear issues
okay i know my tranny is not bad or anything like that but my clutch its like i have to step on it really hard to the floor so i can get it into first gear and i hate what do you think the problem is help me out i wanna fix this issue
could be any number of problems.
Clutch pedal out of adjustment
low clutch fluid
air in the clutch line
could just be your first gear syncro on the way out.
if all your other gears go in nicely i would lean towards the last one
A little more info might help us such as was this an all of a sudden kind of thing or just gradual, and have you done any work in the area recently.

I have a similar issue but I don't think it would be the same cause. Sometimes at a stop I have trouble getting the shifter into first or reverse; I have to really jam it sometimes. I hope it's nothing wrong and I'm not gonna end up breaking my shifter. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

the syncros on first and reverse take the biggest beating because in most cases you cant sync it yourself with your revs like you naturally do with every other gear.
Black_Maxed95 hit it right on the head when he said let your clutch out and try it again or you could let your car roll a little bit if you aren't on a flat surface

well my fluid is good and its a brand new clutch i put the clutch in when i did my motor swap it goes into 1st sometimes lovely but then the clutch pedal feels like **** i gotta hold my steering wheel and press that pedal hard so it can go in 1st and then when its in 1st it feels like it wants to stall even wit the pedal pressed all the way to the floor could it be my clutch pedal or the MC
yo i had the same problem with my max for like a month in a half checked the line for air
checked both master & slave cyclinder and still had the same problem. some days it would be fine. i had my trans rebuilt in jan of this year by jeff at maxium tuning he sucks he is very over rated. but thats a another story anyway. this labor day weekend my tranny blew up i put in 1st then 2sec and boom i heard an explosion when i stopped i looked and had trans fluid all over the street.when i had it towed to my mechanic and we put it on lift my transmission metal was cracked. so get that fixed a.s.a.p but hey i bought a l.s.d tranny with 81 thousand miles so hopefully no trans problems for a while. and yeah jeff u suck maxium tuning sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay heres the update i changed my gear oil to amsoil GL-4 75W-90 and it feels great butter shifts but i still have to press the clutch pedal all the way down im going to buy a new clutch pedal and MC and take it from there because the pedal i have its to spongy and it wobbles lolz the pedal is only $61 bucks at the dealer so thats a good price ill keep everyone updated but plz if you have any more info to the outcome plz chime in
no need to change the pedal, probably dont need to change the Mc either.
Start with bleeding the system and adjusting your pedal travel.
Unless you are leaking fluid out of them your slave and master cylinder are fine

Check your clutch line for kinks or bubbles. As said above, if you aren't leaking fluid, it probably is not your master and slave cylinders.
My friend's 300zx has this problem only when it gets hot out, because the 16 year old clutch line swells when it gets really hot. Are you running a SS clutch line? They are only like $25 dollars iirc.
