Front Strut bar link question...

Hey guys, well i just got the GR-2's put in and the ride is alot better than before, im very happy with them so far.

During the install my mechanic noticed that the front left side sway bar link is broken, and that i should replace it and that usually if replacing one side you should do the other.

Im really dumb when it comes to cars, but how important is the sway bar link and is this something i should do ASAP? where can i get the sway bar links? and is this a DIY for someone who has very little expirience working on cars?

TITLE SHOULD SAY: FRONT SWAY BAR LINK, sorry i got that mixed up, lol.

You dont need to do them both, but you might as well, they are fairly cheap, and yes you can easily do these yourself. You can get them Autozone(places like that, Im in Canada we dont have that.) dont go to the dealer. One suggestion, I bought the ones for about $15 each side, and the bushings on them broke apart about a month after, then I went with a different brand(almost double the price though) but they have been doing great for over a year now. If you dont replace it, it causes steering noise, later on could cause more damage.

Might as well upgrade your swaybar bushings to ES while you're at it...ask your Autozone clerk for the swaybar bushing kit for your yr.....

you should just get the Nissan end links. Mine lasted over 9 years before I had to replace them.

I mean, since your mechanic was under there, might as well just have him do it and not tell him no and then break it down yourself the folloing weekend. It just doesnt make sense. Plus if your mechanic knows you good enouff, he would only charge you for the part.

I just had mine done not too long ago because one of them broke..I paid $15 a piece for the two end links and I had the ES bushings before hand so I just used the ES bushings instead of the ones that came with the links. However with the car being 13 yrs old the nuts were rusted so bad on there I had to take it to my mechanic so he could cut the original links off and put the new ones in place. I did notice a big difference after the new ones were installed seeing as the one side wasnt even connected.
