try pulling the light and see if there is something up there that could be causing it. does it smell like anything? does it show up anywhere else? Do you wash it yourself at home or do you take it somewhere? if you take it somewhere, do you always use the same place when it happens?

Start narrowing things down, good luck

It's easy. Get a flathead and a phillips screwdriwer. Pop out the light on the side first - pry in between the two lights, toward you. Once that one is out, you'll have access to the screw that holds in the larger light. Remove that screw and then you can pull the light out

Billy Mayes here ... Are you having trouble with hard water stains? Use CLR, it cleans and protects without harming your cars mouth. Cars drool from time to time (like when they see another sexy Maxima! or Z car!) and CLR will help you out!

Of course, if you don't know who Billy Mayes is ... that may not be so funny, but if you do .... Ugh, that guy anoys the crap outta me! lol Really though ... try rubbing it off with a rag and some CLR and see if it helps. It could also be wax residue build up.

Isn't the windshield washer tank above that? Maybe if it's spilling or leaking fluid in that area its running down to the turnsignal opening?

1:1 mix of distilled water and white vinegar in a spray bottle.

don't apply it in the sun and don't let it dry.

might take several applications but it'll come off.

don't use CLR or Limeway. Limeaway contains phosphoric acid. CLR contains gluconic and lactic acids. these acids will etch clearcoat, paint and will ruin clear automotive plastics.
