Hey guys, i replaced (tried to) my rear passenger door handle on the outside. My car was minorly sideswiped right there before i bought it and the handle and the two tabs it bolts into were messed up. So i took off the handle, and bent the mounting tabs into place and put the new handle in, connected the rods, yadda yadda. Since the one bolt closest to the back of the door is inaccessible without unbolting and moving the lock mechanism at the rear of the door out of the way. Well i did all that and put it back together, minus a few bolts in case it didn't work, and well it didn't work. Door wont open from inside or out. when i unlock the doors, the unlock rod tried to move into the unlock position, and the motor thing makes noise but cant move it all the way, its like something is block it. So I put my hand in there and pulled the rod from the door lock mechanism that gets the power unlock signal and i can feel it move all the way, but when i go to use the other rod to open the door nothing happens still. All rods are connected and everything and they all should work, but the door wont open. I think the lock mechanism might be messed up or not in the right position or something... Right now the door is shut with the door panel off. Also the door worked before i went to replace the handle... Any ideas anyone? I mean all the rods are in place and seem to work, but they just dont, i mean wtf?

 

Me too it happen i did try to manually full the lock inside of the actuator im still not able to open both inside outside. i got my actuator already from junkshop my problem now is how to open this freaking door.it hard to unlocked the actuator manualy.i did double check my child safety its already all the way up i did try too used my remote to unlocked and push same time the actuator inside lock but not helping either....dang pissed off already can anybody help me suggestion how to remove the actuator while the door is close.

 

Same issue here but I cant get the door panel off to see inside what is causing the problem!

 

i think it is impossible to connect the rods and screw 2 bolts of handle, when you you screw handle first ( with lock mechanism unscrew) u not able to join the rods, when you try to put handle with connected rods u don't have access to screw second bolt from handle... oww if you tried to screw second bolt anyway be sure u disconnected the rods doing that , so don't be surprised that doors gonna be locked... to open doors i would try take off inner handle and pull the rods. I am loosing my mind!!! did u finally install that handle correctly?

 

I had the same problem and I made the mistake of taking my 95 max to the stealership and they charged me $460 to get my door open and change out the actuator mechanism in my driver side door
