trunk latch problem/question

my trunk just recently decided to break on me somehow. About 3 weeks ago, it would no longer close. after trying everything and what not, i realized it is the latch on the trunk itself that is broken.

i took it to a shop to get an estimate, and they said to put on a new trunk latch it will cost $230 . What are your thoughts on this price?

if i were to do this myself, would it be an easy fix and where the hell do i go about finding a trunk latch? thanks

to put on a new latch is quite simple..
remove the trunk lining and you will see it's 2 bolts holding it down and a clip for wiring harness if I recall.....
just buy the piece yourself and save yourself some $$$

it's not that hard..

I got both pieces from a junkyard for $10.00. Took about 5 minutes to install both pieces. Mine wouldnt open. As in the "trunk itself" do you mean the body or the trunk lid? Either way $230=huge ripoff, very simple job to diy.
