More pre-cats, more 02 sensors, more crap in the way of the knock sensor...

Most of the sensors are part-wise the same as well as I'm aware of, they might just be in different places, and more of them. If there's a different sensor for fed and cali, any parts store should carry both.

^ ok awesome, my main concern was if the map/baro was different and if the knock sensor was different. BTW i was looking around for o2 sensors and i only see the one on the front and theres one near the back of the motor onthe pass side. wheres the other ones?

There are 4 O2 sensors.
One on each cylinder bank before the precats (2)
One on each cylinder bank after the precats (2)
Total 4

The intake manifold has swish valves incorporated into it.
The actuator for them (they only close when the engine is warmig up) is what gets in the way of the KS. Two screws easily removes it to get at the KS.

Unless the OP had a typo you are all wrong. A 98 is still like the other 96-98's. A 99 cali spec is the only year with all the added emissions.
