Washer fluid low level light... We have these?

So as I was browsing though parts on rockauto I came across low fluid level indicator. I then thought to myself. I have this in my car?

Well... Do I have one in my car or is that a mistake? I can't see it being broken but then again, when I first turn the car on I don't see a low washer fluid light for the light check.

the write up was in the how-to's from cardomain but the link doesn't work anymore so unless someone knows how to do it you're out of luck...or you can have a $tealer$hip put one in for you.

here it used to be: How to activate the Low Washer Fluid light (for cars without cold/deluxe packages) http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/259701/13

Just a rundown of the option packages on the SE model. The GLE has all these as standard.

On the SE

Cold weather package
-adds heated seats and heated mirrors
-Heavy duty battery
-low windshield washer fluid warning light

Security and convenience package
-adds remote entry, homelink, security system
-power trunk release
-illuminated visors
-Variable intermittent wipers
-power drivers seat

Leather Package
-Leather seats
-4 way power passenger seat
-Auto climate control
-leather door trim
-Bose audio

ABS was an option
Moonroof was an option, but required with the above packages.

If you have heated seats and heated mirrors, you also have the low washer fluid light.

My mistake, apparently all of those packages are standard except for the Cold Weather Package on the GLE.

S1cTech,
I had a 97 Se and I installed that in my car. I got the part from a junkyard Maxima for like $5. The good thing is your car may have come pre-wired like mine did.

The way to find out is look under the passenger side wheel well and see if there is a connection there that does not have anything attached to it, (right under the existing washer fluid bottle).

If it does just pull your washer bottle out insert the float from the bottom, hook up the electrical connection, pop in a fuse and you're set.

There was a writeup on one of the sites linked from here. I think it was thru the owens family site.

I have it. I may have a spare laying around. I believe all 4th gens are wired up for it.

If your washer reservoir has a straw then you dont have one.

Depends on whether you have the Deluxe Seating package considering you have a 98 Max. As others stated, if you have heated seats, you have this feature as well.

Wrong on two accounts. There was no cold weather package in 98. It was part of the Deluxe Seating package. For the GLE, one would have to purchase ABS with the Deluxe Seating package.

It was also available on SE's as long as the SE Security and Convenience Package, Bose Audio System, SE Leather and Trim Package, and ABS was purchased at the same time. Hence, a fully loaded SE.

About $15-$20 IIRC new. I bought one years ago and installed in my 99 SE.

Just a FYI, there is no such thing as cold Weather package in 98. And don't forget, ABS was still optional, even on GLE's.

All Max's are prewired for it. For clarity to those reading, I had to cut a hole for it, glue it in place etc... it didn't just 'insert' in....
