Totalled my 97

Got rearended about 50 mph, that pushed into the car infront of me. I will be graduating to a 5th gen. Should be picking it up next week. Here are some pics of my max.

I just put a new 5sp tranny, clutch kit, rearmainseal, fuel injectors, valvecover gaskets and rebuilt the front suspension, I just put on brembo rotors and pads. Damn, I am pissed. They wanted 7500 to fix it, because it crushed the floor in the trunk and back door wont even open.

Ouch. Sorry for your loss man. Looks like you've put a lot of work into it recently. Part it out, maybe?

It would cost me 900 bones to buy it back. I offered 500 and they wouldn't take it. So one of the body shop guys bought it for 900. I see it driving around town. I get really angry every time i see it around town, makes me want to punch something.

I am staying with maxima's just because of this website, there is no other website like this, that has this much content and information. This website has saved me literaly thousands of dollars. I am already checking out the 5th gen board, seems to be pretty much the same stuff. Not much has changed mechanicaly going to 5th gen. The variable intake is nice. I wonder how much more the 5th gen weighs? Those 18's on the 5th gen weigh 25lbs. My oem 17's weigh 24. The 17 5zigen's rpf1 weigh 15.5lbs. Big difference there.

Anyways, i will be visiting both trying to help out those in need. Pay it foward.

Thanks so much to you guys in the 4th gen forum for your help in the years.

Yah it is, the suspension has been all rebuilt complete with progress coilovers. 6th gen brakes, matt blems. Full exhaust by cattman, plus a cutout with remote switch. Car has been professionaly balanced. There is to much to list.

I have been looking in san diego at some 5gens, I must say wow, some people just dont give a shiat about there cars, some do.

I took this one for a test ride and i took it on the freeway and the thing shimmied and the brakes were totally warped, the shock were shot, the rims were hammered by curbs, the owner asked me why i didnt want it, and i told him to fix all this and sell it, or discount the car for what the repairs would cost. Or sell it to somebody who doesnt know anything. To say the least he wasnt happy.

Its a roll of the dice when buying a used car, I try to get a feel of who the owner is and see if he is a BS artist. I have seen a few. Its very rare you get to meet an owner who actually knows what he's talking about. So far i have only talked to 1.

as long as the insurance reimbursed you for your vehicle, it shouldn't matter what happens to it, whether someone else buys it off fixes it or it gets junk. Good luck finding another car, there are plenty out there.
