Overheating and no warm air

I have two issues. The first one is that my car is overheating. No smoke or smells, just a high temp on the gauge. The second one is that my heat isn't blowing warm air. I'm having to fill up with radiator fluid every 4 to 5 months. I don't drive my car very often but I don't see any leaks on the ground around the car. Any ideas? Thanks.

Check your fluid level. Thats a sign of low coolant.

Also, best way to find where that fluid is going is pressurising the system, IIRC autozone loans the tool, but you need an adaptor to fit the smaller radiator cap on your car. The weep hole for a leaky water-ump housing o-rig is behind the crank-pulley, common place for it to disappear from while being very hard to pin point.

You have an air lock in the line. Let it cool. Remove cap and fill. With cap removed run engine untill fluid level lowers due to thermostat opening. Continue to fill until full. Replace cap and have a good day.

Thanks to everyone for the prompt responses. This one does sound like a match though because it only let me put in a little bit of fluid before it was full. After I put in some fluid, it warmed right up. I guess it's about time to give the ol' girl a rest. Any input on that new Maxima?
