Rubber WInter Floor Mats

I tried searching on this but did not get any matches, so here goes...

I am interested in some fitted rubber floor mats for my 1999 Maxima. Do the "Weathertech" mats fit as well as the OEM carpet mats? Do they have a hole for the locating pin? Can I use Nissan rubber mats for the 2000+ cars? Do the Nissan mats need to be modified to fit my car?

Thanks.

Contact "190hpKiLLa"...... I've seen some very nice fitting rubber floor mats in his car. I thought they were OEM until he told me they're not. I think he has a few sets too, they fit perfect! I want to get a set from him as well.

Re: Rubber WInter Floor Mats

WeatherTech is supposed to sell mats made specifically for whatever car you buy them for so I suppose they will fit well. I was planning on getting a set.

My friend bought some cheapo rubber mats at Costo for his Max. They don't fit perfectly, but they work just as well.

The best thing you can do is to call Weathertech and ask them.

I have WeatherTech mats and they do not fit as well as the factory ones, especailly the rears. And no they do not have the hole for the locating pin in the fronts. The rears that I got were universals so they are just square shaped. They do cover the area but not a formed fit by all means. However, I bought mine a couple of years back when they only made them in black. I would definitely ask about fitment before getting them.

I have WeatherTechs and luv 'em. They do not have the hole for the locating pin, but with these weathertechs, that's not really needed because they're quite heavy and don't move around alot. They really catch and contain spills well, too.

Did the same.
Bought some heavy rubber ones on sale at the auto store.
Not a perfect fit, but saved a bundle, and it works fine.

UPDATE

I thought I would give an update on what I chose to do. The weathertec did not look very "custom" to me, expecially in the rear which is basically cut to fit. I did not want some cheap Walmart mats which kinda fit, so I went to the Nissan dealer. They do not have mats for the 4th gen, but do for the 5th. I bought these and they fit near perfect. The fronts are 98% exact same curves as original WITH hole for drivers side locater pin. The rears were a little worse at about 85% perfect with most of the difference being the portion which goes under the front seat. Quality is excellent and the fronts even say "MAXIMA".

Here's the best part - $53 for the set of four! Cheaper than weathertec and better too! I recommend these to anyone.

YES

Yes, these are rubber all season mats with channels to hold water. Sorry, I do not have any pictures. They are a dark grey color and the fronts say "MAXIMA" on them. Take a swing by your dealer as I would guess they might have some in stock. A dealer near me had several sets.

This is what I did

I put plastic down on the carpet and flipped the factory floor mats, they have nice rubber on the other side. Same for the backseats.
