Clutch issues on my 96' max

So I got in my car this morning and went to turn it on and the clutch went right to the floor with only a very little bit of catch at the very bottom. I checked the clutch fluid and the entire reservoir was empty so I refilled it and that seemed to help some but it still wasn't acting like it should. After driving about 20 miles the clutch feels like its not engaging again and I am just barely able to shift the car with the clutch completely down. the clutch fluid reservoir is still full now so I can imagine what could be causing this... Any ideas what problem this could be?

Thanks in advance!
Jason

So you didn't bleed it after adding fluid?

Bleed it, and find out where the leak is coming from.

I had a very similiar problem, the main things to check for is the master and slave along with the clutch lines. I went ahead and changed all three since the master and slave would go out sooner or later and switched the clutch line to a SS then bled it. Clutch will go back to normal.

I had the same problem on my 96 SE, I took it to the mechanic to bleed it and he let air in the system. That's why i don't trust mechanics. It's very hard for the slave to go wrong, since it's very simple. But it like $30 and very simple to replace. the real problem was the master. It's like $60 in Pep Boy but it's tricky to replace since it's right behind the strut tower next to the brake master cylinder. A tight squeeze but you can do it yourself.
