Anything from 7th Gen available for 4th Gen?

Has anyone tried to swap some Engine, Body or Drivetrain parts from the 6th or the Newest 7th Generation Max to the 1995-1999 4th Generation Max?
I have researched some, but didn't find anything for the 7th Gen.
Thanks

Well from my point of view its better to replace old parts with new parts. I have read that some people on this forum swapped 6th generation Max clutch on to the 4th generation for Max. That means that you have more options to choose. If a stock part of a newer generation will fit the older generation, you can as well buy this aftermarket part of newer generation Max and place it on your old one and it will fit. I think that its better quality and feel.
I am thinking to upgrade Drivetrain as for handling, and Engine breathing system. It would be lovely if the Seats would fit the old Max.

If what you say is what you believe in than I suggest you buy a new car. You are only limited to changing old parts as in the long run it's going to cost you. If you mean worn out parts than its a different thing, but replacing "old" will get costly.

I'm sure you know this.

from my point of view you should read, search, read and search again. the way your thinking makes it sound like youre re-inventing the wheel. everything you just mentioned has been done so go forth and seek the knowledge.

Give it some time bro. lol. THe 7th gen has only been out for 6 months. I am sure no one has gotten their claws in getting those young nice VQHR engines into our soon to be grandpas just yet. lol

First, there's a newbie thread for questions like this.

Second, you didn't search.

Third, look in the stickies.

If I were you, the first thing you should swap would be the 7th gen X pipe. Replace your X pipe with your 4th gen X pipe. After that get the 7th gen rear differential and driveshaft and swap that for your 4th gen's parts.

Well, wait for them to switch the 7g to AWD VQ37VHR, then swap it.

In all honesty, you'll probably have a bear of a time finding a motor out of the newest Maxima. People typically only sell motors from wrecked cars, and they haven't been around long enough to be found in junkyards.

AFAIK, the majority of the 4th gen VQ35 swaps are from V6 Altimas.

Or, use a Maxima VQ35 with the HLSD 6-speed.

Again, AFAIK, there haven't been any CVT swaps into older Maxes. That might be quite a challenge. The majority of 3.5 swaps use a 5 or 6 speed manual.

If you want newer seats why not take the Front Seats off a G35 or 350z they fit directly, many have also done the 3.5L engine swap, you could also use G35 rims, 300zx brake system, G35 sedan exhaust, aftermarket ypipe

G35 muffler is weld on, if you go by that then you can use the 'exhaust' off of pretty much any other car. Any Z32 he finds will either be older than his car, or the same year.

Z33/V35 seats aren't a direct bolt in, there's some modification required.

Aftermarket Y? That's a completely different category, that's not a part on newer cars he can put on his.

He also said from a newer generation of Maxima, not other cars.

Holy crap there is a boat load of fail in here.

Go search newbies. If you're too cheap to pay the $20 to be able to search, then just go get lost. I'm not kidding. No one is going to spoon feed you everything.
