Sunroof makes screeching noise if you hold either button

Say i want to tilt it up, it goes up...but when i close it and hold it to make sure its closed all the way, i get this LOUD screeching sound.

I had a 95 before my 99 and if i remember correctly, doesnt the motor turn off once its closed all the way? seems like it wants to keep closing even after the fact its shut.

My motor will still keep trying to close the sunroof after it's fully closed if I keep on the button, but it doesn't 'screech'.

All my maxima's have moonroofs, and the motor will shut down by itself on close (no matter how long you hold the button for), but on open it doesnt. Once the roof is all the way open, or fully tilted, the motor will keep spinning if you hold the button.

I dont get any screeching noises though.

Nah man, it might just be a 99 defect. Sometimes it makes noise if you hold the button too long, sometimes it doesn't. No clue why.

Mine does the same. May try to hit with WD-40 to see if it helps.
