POLL: WHAT CAI DO YOU THINK IS BEST?

hey fellas...you know i have been getting so much feedback from everyone here about all the different brands of CAI's out there that I just want a couple of opinions on which is best and which is crap.

So far, Injen seems to be the worst in terms of performance gains..

Please include whether Fuel economy got better or worse and price range.

I am new to the game and searching for previous posts on intakes didnt really answer my questions.

no need to "spoonfeed" just give an honest opinion..

thanks.

This is my favorite setup. CAI w/ K&N filter, but using the stock resonator. I found it to be the best, no dyno's #'s to back it up though. The CAI portion of the setup you can get cheap off of ebay for about $35 shipped or so.

Only CAI possible for these cars is by drilling into the wheel well. Cattman sells a nice one.

Only other option is for an SRI using stock parts to cut down on heat transfer. SRI kits aren't really worth it because the metal tubing from the throttle body to the filter will heat up and you'll suffer worse from heat soak.

it truly depends on what you want out of your system. Many users have gone with a poormans' hacked intake setup. Replaced the filter with an amsoil or k&n panel.

Personally I have a stillen cone intake. Although it is HUGE and there is a noticable noise when you get into the throttle, it sucks up warm engine air all the time. Not such a bad deal in the winter, but when the temp gets to +30 C it can bog. It is super easy to clean the filter thought and this was a major concern when I purchased my intake setup.

Cattman's intake (place racing) is the only true manufactured intake setup for our cars. EVERYTHING else is similar to the stillen design sucking up warm air just these manufactures place the filter in different locations.

fuel ecomony.... will go down along with your right foot. Of course the smile that crosses your face when you hear your VQ "scream" for the first time is priceless.

hope that helps you out.

placeracing with K&N filter on my 00, and a K&N cone on a pop charger on my 95. i dotn see much difference between the two, im had an injen and a cheap ebay cai before and i dint like either.

my vote would be the K&N popcharger due to the fast that i dont need to change anythign when it rains hard or snows.

you don't need to change it during the winter if your wheel well cover is functioning good. also you should clean it once a year anyways so just do it after the winter...

You do realize that CAI's on Maxima's yield less than 5 hp, right?
