(test is for ohms, there is suposed to be some level of resistance, but the test yields no continuity)
The condenser is wired in parallel with the primary ignition circuit. I think it's there just to provide some capacitance to dampen out electrical noise. You can unplug it from the harness and the car will still start. If it's shorted, though, I'm not sure what would happen, but maybe it provides a path to ground that starves your coils of current. But you said you got spark...seems like a shorted condenser would blow a fuse anyway.

Manual says resistance across the terminals should be 1 M-ohm. Your multimeter ought to be able to tell the difference between 1 M-ohm and overlimit, but maybe not?

Don't think the parts stores stock this part.

ok i verirfied in the fsm 0505 is the same as P0000

still wont start

i have fule, air, spark..

the only thing left is timing right?

if the freekin thing managed to skip a tooth or two... ??

what else could happen to the timing?

i know that the tiing light says that the main crank is in time.. but what about the headers? is there a way to verify that they are in the correct time?

there is a pinging sound , but i assumed until this point that its just cause its been sitting with no oil preasure for so long.

if anyon has any ideas, or wants to hear the thing try to start, please feel free to give me a call at (seven seven five) two three three - two seven four five. i'll call you back if long distance is the issue.

PS me cell is dead and charging atm, gime about 20 - 30 mins if you want to call, or leave a message.

Have you tried to see if you have a lose vacuum line, or a leak in a vacuum line? Also, get a smal sample from the engine oil, if it has large or thin chunks of metal, the oil hasny been changed for a long time, it thats what it may need. I've looked over my car 5 times already, trying to figure out what it could be, but I'm sure everybody (including me) is stuck.

STEP 2 : ...

ok so after everything i called a mechanic friend of mine (who was finaly back at work.. geez he thinks hes allowed to take days off) and i told him everything... and then he listened to it for 15 seconds... and said :

"those guys [at the place i got it] lied.. it was never preasure tested... i could prove it for ya, but im telling you.. there is ZREO compression on more then 1/2 of those cylindars..."

So i told him i had a line on a motor from a 98 max that had been killed in a rear end accident, preasure tested, 180-190 in all 6 and 60-90psi oil preasure, and under warrenty for 30 days unlmited mialage for only $450...

he of course said .. "so why are you talking to me and not going to get that motor?"

so 2 days later i have the motor installed, and running!!! YEAH!!

..

.

and then STEP 2:

... i think that the transaxle input shaft drive barrings and seals are shot.

i read several forum posts here and the symptoms are exact... trans noise, leaking gear oil.. (relitivly quick) from the belhousing..

and then the wife chimes in.. "F*it... sell it..."

don't listen to her man. My fiencee said the same thing when i bought mine. So I never listened and put a new tranny in it. And I have about the same amount of miles on mine. Enjoy your car. Whats a little re-build? Or a new tranny? Or a 5 speed swap :P

Had the same problem a few years ago on my Integra. before you jump to any bad conclusions try changing the connection at the pressure sender.

Then change the sender.

If it still occurs you probably have a lower thasn needed pressure or a partially clogged pickup.

Mine was caused because the oil pickup in the pan was partially clogged and when I turned one way it starved the pump.

Ended up ruining the pump.

Good Luck.
